OID Water Users
There will be chlorine in your water beginning Monday, June 30th.
The high temperatures recorded in late spring have resulted in very low coliform counts during routine water sampling. As per the recommendation from Interior Health, the OID will be adding chlorine to the distribution system on Monday, June 30th, to destroy the coliform. We expect this process to be completed by July 10th. Please note that this chlorination is precautionary in nature, and our water continues to be safe for domestic and consumption uses.
This procedure may be repeated in the future to ensure water quality and to prevent any possible directive from Interior Health to continuously chlorinate our water.
